WTO Working Group on the Relationship between Trade and Investment.
In their Declaration at the Fourth Session of the WTO Ministerial Conference in Doha in November 2001,members of the WTO agreed on a work programme on the relationship between trade and investment paragraphs 20- 22.
A Working Group on the Relationship between Trade and Investment was established at the WTO's first Ministerial Conference held in December 1996.
It was also reported to the WTO Working Group on the Relationship between Trade and Investment.

Responding to this challenge, the WTO's Working Group on the Relationship between Trade and Investment recently produced an extensive report outlining the major issues of concern,and also touching on some of the controversies raised by the MAI.

Concerning the fourth post, however, its functions were interdivisional(centring on the relationship between trade and investment) and those functions were being transferred to an interregional adviser L post in EDM, thus releasing a D.1 post, to be devoted to cross-cutting issues.
The secretariat provides substantive support to various pertinent intergovernmental activities, including meetings of the Commission on Investment, Technology and Related Financial Issues, as well as expert meetings called by it, and monitors other selected intergovernmental activities such as the WTO Working Group on the Relationship between Trade and Investment.
