Member States may not prohibit, restrict or impede the placing on the market orputting into service on their territory of lifts and/or safety components which comply with this Directive.
The contracting authorities covered by the Agreement which comply with this Directive and which apply the latter to economic operators of third countries which are signatories to the Agreement should therefore be in conformity with the Agreement.
Information communicated to the Commission pursuant to this Directive shall be kept confidential by the Commission in accordance with the provisions applicable to Union authorities and may not be used for any purposes other than those required to determine whether andto what extent Member States comply with this Directive.

Only vehicles complying with this Directive may be presented for initial registration.

Paragraph 1 shall not affect existing Community provisions or those national provisions which, in the absence of the comprehensive directives referred to in Article 3, apply to certain groups of food additives orspecify the foodstuffs in or on which food additives complying with this Directive may be used.
