Safety of the food produced from genetically modified organisms;
A small amount of sweet corn, papaya andsummer squash sold in the United States is produced from genetically modified seeds.

In addition to the dirty dozen some sweet corn, papaya and summer squash sold in the United States,as well as around the world, are produced from genetically modified seeds.

Regulation(EC) 1830/2003 concerning the traceability and labelling of genetically modified  organisms andthe traceability of food and feed products produced  from genetically modified organisms.
But because it is mostly produced from genetically modified organisms(GMOs) and by a chemical extraction process, it should be avoided.
If a food contains or consists of genetically modified  organisms, orcontains ingredients produced from genetically modified organisms, this must be shown on the label.
Regulation(EC) No 1829/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 September 2003 on genetically modified  food and feed(8) provides for an authorisation procedure for the placing on the market of genetically modified  food and feed,including feed additives consisting of, containing or produced from genetically modified organisms.

(c) Where there is no list of ingredients,the words"genetically modified" or"produced from genetically modified[name of organism]" must appear clearly in the labeling.
