Nova Varos is strategically committed to tourism development.
The last time when Serbian Patriarch visited Nova Varos was in 1964 and it was Patriarch German.
Nova Varos is one of the few municipalities that has moved forward in gender equality.
Mihajlovic attended the opening of the Office for Gender Equality in Nova Varos today and praised the efforts of the municipality in this area.

The first-instance ruling was passed in 2006 by the then Municipal Court in Nova Varos, and confirmed in 2007 in an appellation procedure by the then District Court in Uzice.
Let's remind you that the competition was announced in early May, while young persons and women aged from 18 to 35, who are from Vranje, Leskovac, Presevo, Bujanovac, Medvedja, Raska, Novi Pazar, Sjenica, Tutin, Priboj,Prijepolje and Nova Varos.
Namely, a Perica Dimitrijevic from Nova Varos was convicted to 3-month imprisonment with one year suspended sentence because he had broken the antenna and cut cables of the B92 television transmitter on Cvjetnjak hill near Nova Varos.
The competition started in April 2018, and after several rounds of elimination the competition ended at the end of December with six teams going to the finals(four from Belgrade andone from Stara Pazova and Nova Varos), with the final victory of“Motimove” team.
The sequence of the cities and municipalities on the list is as follows:Leskovac, Nova Varos, Novi Pazar, Vranje, Bujanovac, Medvedja, Knjazevac, Vlasotince, Raska and Bela Palanka, while Bosilegrad, Vladicin Han, Babusnica and Lebane are at the bottom of the list.
That path goes something like this: for police and legal works they have to go to Novi Pazar, for health to Uzice, for forestry matters in Ivanjica, for water management matters in Priboj,for mining matters to Resavica, for finances in Nova Varos etc.
In the most beautiful part of Zlatar, on Vodena Poljana(1440 m.a.s.l.),ten kolometres from Nova Varos, surrounded by high conifer forests the church of St. Cosma and Damian the Unmercenaries was built, today it's a property of the monastery of Milesevo.
The RAS implements the PSD project, in cooperation with the US Agency for International Development(USAID), in three cities(Vranje, Leskovac and Novi Pazar) and nine municipalities(Presevo, Bujanovac, Medvedja, Raska, Sjenica, Tutin, Priboj,Prijepolje and Nova Varos) in southern and southwestern Serbia.

The U.S. Embassy announced that the project for the development of the private sector was carried out in 12 economically disadvantaged municipalities in the southern and southwestern Serbia, which include: Leskovac, Vranje, Presevo, Bujanovac, Bujanovac, Raska, Novi Pazar, Sjenica, Tutin, Priboj,Prijepolje and Nova Varos.
The activities envisaged by the Memorandum will be implemented in 12 municipalities, which include Vranje, Leskovac, Presevo, Bujanovac, Medvedja, Raska, Novi Pazar, Sjenica,Tutin, Priboj and Nova Varos. She stressed that those municipalities were the best choice because they had the highest unemployment rate in Serbia.
The project for the development of the private sector was worth 4 million US dollars and was intended to strengthen private sector firms in 12 municipalities in economically disadvantaged areas of southern and southwestern Serbia: Nis, Leskovac, Novi Pazar, Presevo, Bujanovac, Medvedja, Raska, Sjenica, Tutin, Priboj,Prijepolje and Nova Varos.

At least ten women will be employed through this project. Proposals from 20 local self-governments were submitted in response to the public call for gender equality council projects, and the 17 selected projects from Priboj,Prijepolje, Nova Varos, Sjenica, Tutin, Novi Pazar, Raska, Prokuplje, Zitoradja, Kursumlija, Vranje, Vlasotince, Bojnik, Medvedja, Lebane, Bujanovac and Vladicin Han will be funded with a total of€ 28,800.
Vukasin Obradovic(Danas, 29.06.2011)The Section for Culture and Information of the Bosniak National Council(BNV) has asked the Ministry of Culture and Informing to redefine the broadcasting districts in Serbia, to ensure more complete and comprehensive mechanisms for protection of the rights of national minorities and to include six municipalities from Sandzak(Novi Pazar, Sjenica, Tutin, Priboj,Prijepolje and Nova Varos)- mostly or predominantly inhabited by Bosniaks- into a single broadcasting district.
The invitation to participate in the project is open for:- 20 young members of the Serbian and Bosniak national communities from Sandzak/ southwestern Serbia(Novi Pazar, Tutin, Sjenica, Prijepolje,Priboj and Nova Varos), and- 20 young members of the Serbian, Albanian and Roma national communities from South Serbia(Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja) The program is aimed at graduate/postgraduate students, young political party activists, civil society organizations activists and journalists.
All these factors lead to a spontaneous conclusion that the few media outlets still existing in Sandzak are characterized by undemocratic procedures and hopelessness. Considering the electronic media outlets in the Sandzak area(if we define Sandzak as consisting of five municipalities- Priboj,Prijepolje, Nova Varos, Sjenica and Tutin, as well as the city of Novi Pazar), most of them are, quite expectedly, concentrated in Novi Pazar.
The consultative process within Sandzak Regional Forum- coordinated by Council For Inclusive Governance, and supported by Open Society Foundation, has resulted in the'Agreement on the Conduction of Elections for National Minority Councils in the City of Novi Pazar, municipalities of Sjenica, Tutin, Prijepolje,Priboj and Nova Varos' being signed on October 10th 2014, by the representatives of both Bosniac electoral lists for the National Minority Councils elections.
