The Preparatory Committee requests the Secretary-General to undertake further efforts to evaluate the progress towards the achievement of international targets agreed on in the Copenhagen Declaration on Social Development2 and the Programme of Action of the World Summit for Social Development3 aimed at meeting the basic human needs of all, and to report thereon to the Commission for Social Development at its thirty-eighth session andto the Preparatory Committee at its second substantive session.
