A discussion of the programme lines follows.
Regular resources expenditure includes $532 million related to programme lines.

In document DP/2002/WP.1, UNDP introduced to the Executive Board the concept of fixed lines with the objective ofestablishing fixed absolute amounts for selected programme lines.
In addition, eight fixed programme lines support various cross-cutting activities on a smaller scale, some of which are proposed for reclassification(see paragraphs 33 and 37, below).
Despite recent progress, information sharing within the system still takes place primarily along organizationaland, in some instances, sectoral programme lines.

UNESCO had launched four intersectoral initiatives thatwould establish new directions across established programme lines: sustainable development, biological diversity, capacity-building and environment and development information.
The corresponding financial frameworks are included in the annex of this document in tables 1 to 4. The options presented for changing the percentage shares are somewhat limited by the fact that, besides the three TRAC lines, only three other programme lines will remain variable.
Executive Board members looked forward to further consultations on other elements of the programming arrangements framework to include regional,global and fixed programme lines, in order to present a draft proposal for Board review at the first regular session 2013.
In the current programming arrangements, and based on the approved annual programming base of $700 million,$650.6m is earmarked for four variable programme lines and $49.4m for eight fixed programme lines.
Such a strategy should be accompanied by different options for safeguarding the percentage shares of key variable lines at lower resource scenarios, especially the three TRAC lines andthe total share of regular programme resources allocated to all programme lines that are directly managed at the country level.
The integrated budget reflects a proposed annual programme line allocation of $1.5 million in 2014-2015 and $1.5 million in 2016-2017.
