Paragraph 216. UNDP agreed with the Board ' s recommendation that it:(i)evaluate establishing a risk management function responsible for implementing a risk management strategy at UNDP; and(ii) conduct a comprehensive risk assessment exercise.
Since that time, the enterprise risk management function, located in the Office of the Under-Secretary-General for Management, has continued to provide assistance and advice to different areas of the Organization working towards full implementation of enterprise risk management as part of their operations, such as the Capacity Development Office of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the Secretariat and UNEP.

In support of the adoption of an effective framework, the enterprise risk management function will also continue to work on the implementation of a comprehensive communications programme, including(a) an e-learning course now available to all staff in Inspira,(b) in-person training sessions and workshops,(c) enterprise risk management and internal control web pages on iSeek and(d) the community of practice on Unite Connections, which includes some 130 practitioners representing different entities of the United Nations system and other international institutions.
Depending on the size, complexity,sector and risk profile of the entities concerned, the risk management function may range from a single risk champion and part-time risk officer, to a full-scale risk management department and high-level separate CRO.
In paragraphs 40 to 45, the Secretary-General indicates that the enterprise risk management function has focused on the implementation of the first Secretariat-wide risk assessment, including the identification of preliminary risk areas, prioritization of the risk areas initially identified and definition of potential risk response strategies.
