Mr. Al-Habsi(United Arab Emirates)(spoke in Arabic): On behalf of the delegation of the United Arab Emirates, I have the honour to express our thanks and appreciation to the members of the Commission on Population and Development and to the United Nations Population Fund(UNFPA) for their constructive efforts,which have helped to strengthen international efforts to implement the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development(ICPD).
In this regard, we reaffirm our commitment to implement the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development and the key actions for the further implementation of the Programme of Action. .
A total of 10 years have passed since the international community agreed to the financial resource targets to implement the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development.
No specific measures had been adopted to implement the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development, or the Platform for Action of the Fourth World Conference on Women, with regard to the right of women and girl-children to control their own reproductive activity.
Notes the action taken so far by Governments and the international community to implement the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development and encourages them to strengthen their efforts in this regard in a concerted and coordinated manner;
For each of the framework outcomes, UNFPA directly contributes to national progress through severaloutputs that reflect changes in country capacity to implement the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development.
It has participated in parliamentary conferences, steering committees and strategy meetings organized by UNFPA,from 2006 to 2009, to implement the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development.
Notes the actions taken sofar by Governments and the international community to implement the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development, encourages them to strengthen their efforts in that regard and requests them to fully implement all chapters of the Programme of Action; .
Delegations expressed support for the intercountry programme, 2004-2007, noting that it would produce replicable experiences that would enable UNFPA to build partnerships andsupport national strategies to implement the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development(ICPD).

Furthermore, officials of the Roman Catholic Church around the world actively obstruct national commitments to implement the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development.
UNFPA participated actively in United Nations inter-agency initiatives to implement the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development as well as the Beijing Platform for Action.4 It continued to co-chair, with the United Nations Development Fund for Women, the inter-agency task force on gender and HIV/AIDS.
In 1999, Honduras emphatically reaffirmed its support for the Cairo consensus andadopted the necessary measures to continue to implement the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development agreed at the five-year review of the implementation of the Programme. .

A number of developing countries andcountries with economies in transition have shown real commitment to implementing the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development.
Most recently, the commitment to implementing the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development(ICPD) had been reaffirmed at the Fifth Asian and Pacific Population Conference, held in Bangkok, Thailand, in December 2002.
In 2011, the Federation, through its 153 member associations in 174 countries,committed to implementing the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development.
Working through 148 member associations in 171 countries,the organization is committed to implementing the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development(Cairo),the Platform for Action of the Fourth World Conference on Women(Beijing) and the Millennium Development Goals, all of which strive to advance gender equality and empower women.
He reaffirmed the commitment and political will of his country to fully implement the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development, as well as the key actions for the further implementation of the Programme of Action of the Conference. .
Funding levels are below the amounts necessary to fully implement the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development and achieve the Millennium Development Goals.
For at least the next 10- 15 years, many of these countries, especially those going through painful structural adjustment processes,will continue to require significant external assistance to fully implement the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development.
(a) Strengthening political will and commitment to implement the financial targets of the International Conference on Population and Development as an integral part of the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals and the mobilization of new,additional and sustained resources to fully implement the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development.
Mr. Medalla(Philippines): I bring to this Assembly the greetings of our President, Joseph Estrada. This special session of the General Assembly is alandmark event that could pave the way for the international community to work together to fully implement the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development(ICPD).
Let us also commit ourselves to stronger action to implement in full the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development.
