Mr President, I voted for some of the amendments to this directive.
Amendments to this directive have been eagerly awaited, especially in the new Member States.
We disagree on a number of points;this is clear from the amendments to this Directive.
Our amendments to this directive and to the motion for a resolution are directed at two matters.
The amendments to this directive, which were voted and passed by the Environment Committee, will have a major impact on public health.

On the basis of the reports referred to in paragraphs 1 to 4, the Commission may submit proposals for related amendments to this Directive.
It is therefore now clear that any amendments to this directive must be submitted for consideration to the European Parliament as well as to the Council.
Provisions relating to branches of credit institutions and financial institutions having their head offices in non-members countries through regular meetings dealing, in particular, with practical problems arising in connection with its application, such as assessment of equivalence of documents, and facilitate decisions concerning the comparability and equivalence of the legal forms referredto in Article 1(1);(b) advise the Commission, if necessary, on additions or amendments to this Directive.

I therefore agree with the amendments to this directive and this regulation, I believe that we must guarantee the right of asylum to all those who ask for it because the future of the European Union depends on the quality of our reception.
