Implementation of cohesion policy programmes for 2007-2013.
The Danube region is an important focal point for EU cohesion policy programmes.
The new generation of sectoral and regional cohesion policy programmes has aimed since 2007 at relaunching employment and growth in all member States and all regions of the European Union.
The Member States must participate more actively in the implementation of cohesion policy programmes.
To render the management of cohesion policy programmes more efficient- and this is our common concern- there is a need to reinforce inter-regional exchanges of experience and of good practice.
The strategic report 2010 constitutes a strong incentive to improve the current implementation of the cohesion policy programmes.
What we want is a first real analysis of cohesion policy programmes for the period 2007-2013.
There is also the system of reporting on how equal opportunity policies are implemented in the new generation of cohesion policy programmes.
In addition, between 2007 and 2013,approximately EUR 5.8 billion will be available under the cohesion policy programmes, for risk prevention and response to various types of disaster, including forest fires.
