Streamlining of procedures.
This will involve a review of its structures, modernisation of the management and a streamlining of procedures.

The harmonisation of rules,procedures and administrative practices for the management of EU projects and the simplification and streamlining of procedures are the solutions that the stakeholders on the ground and citizens have been asking us for for a long time.
We must strive to achieve continuous streamlining of procedures for the management of EU finances and the control of expenditure, with particular regard to the role of the European Parliament as the institution that grants a discharge in respect of implementation of the budget.
In my view the important points are the need to protect people's health; information for consumers; support for small and medium-sized enterprises while REACH is being put into effect, by means of support for research;the creation of a powerful agency with genuine powers; the streamlining of procedures for small and medium-sized enterprises; and, finally, the importance of the OSOR(one substance, one registration) programme.
I think that Parliament- and the entire procedure, of course-will benefit from this proposed streamlining of procedures, especially from more transparent information, with the main elements of the application of financial policies and employment policies being provided in a coordinated manner.
In this report, Parliament presents five major priorities, with the aim of consolidating the Single Market for enterprises and growth: the creation of an EU patent and a unified system for settling patent-related disputes; funding for innovation; the promotion of e-commerce; improved access to and greater participation in the Single Market by small andmedium-sized enterprises(SMEs); and the streamlining of procedures relating to public procurement.
There are four reasons- which I consider to be paramount- why I voted in favour of the report:1 the simplification and streamlining of procedures in order to make it easier to access funding; 2 the participation of small and medium-sized enterprises, which are essential for growth and employment; 3 innovation for a competitive manufacturing sector capable of meeting the challenges of the market; and 4 the risk finance facility, which so far has produced very good results.
