The rules of procedure cover general principles of the Committee modus operandi: procedures for handling submissions, referrals and communications; the consideration of submissions, referrals and communications; and the preparation and adoption of draft findings, measures and recommendations; as well as the procedures for information gathering.
The Commission also discussed in brief the information note by the Secretariat on technical and logistical preparedness of the Secretariat to provide assistance to the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf in the consideration of submissions of coastal States CLCS/INF/1.
During the six sessions that have been held since the establishment of the Commission in March 1997,the Commission has prepared the basic documents needed for handling the receipt and consideration of submissions by coastal States, as well as for assisting States in preparing their submissions. .
