Six decades ago, under the United Nations Charter, we committed ourselves to achieve internationalcooperation for resolving international economic, social, cultural and humanitarian problems. .
The Charter's very first Article defines our purposes: resolving disputes by peaceful means; devising cooperative solutions to economic,social, cultural and humanitarian problems; and broadly encouraging behaviour in conformity with the principles of justiceand international law.
