Chapter IV deals with the right to access information relating to the environment.
Information relating to the environment"" shall mean any information in written, visual, aural, electronic or other physical form regarding.

For access to information, in chapter IV, on freedom of access to information relating to the environment, article L. 124-1 basically refers to Act No. 78-753 of 17 July 1978 on various steps to improve relations between the administration and the public, and introduces specific provisions in respect of the environment. .

This was a welcome new in-sight responding to the demand for economic information related to the environment.
In addition, information related to the environment is also collected at Archived Information Fund of the Ministry, where it is regularly updated and made widely available to the public.
Parties shall ensure that the preparation of the environmental report includes proper consultations with the public,in order to obtain the information, related to the environment, which the public can provide.
Steps should alsobe taken by Governments, academia, and scientific institutions to improve access to scientific information related to the environment and sustainable development.
