The Special Rapporteur would like to thank the Governments of those States that have responded positively to her requests for visits and urges Governments that have not yet provided a response to do so.

During the reporting period, she had conducted country visits to Jordan, Italy, Somalia, Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea andhad received positive replies to her requests to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, India and South Africa.
She looks forward to receiving replies to her requests for visits to Bangladesh, Burundi, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Kenya, Malaysia, Nepal, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Panama, Rwanda, Surinam, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey and Viet Nam.
However, she notes with concern the failure of the Governments of Cuba, Ethiopia, India, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Mauritania, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Serbia and Montenegro1 andYemen to respond to her requests for an invitation.
Urges the Government of the Sudan to continue cooperating fully with the Special Rapporteur andto respond favourably to her requests to visit the Sudan and to provide her with all necessary information so as to enable her to fulfil her mandate even more effectively;
Notes with appreciation the cooperation extended to date to the independent expert by different actors, and calls upon all States to continue to cooperate with the independent expert in the discharge of her mandate andto respond favourably to her requests for information and visits;
Urges the Government of the Sudan to continue cooperating fully with the Special Rapporteur andto respond favourably to her requests to visit all parts of the Sudan and to provide her with all necessary information so as to enable her to fulfil her mandate even more effectively;
Takes note of the work of the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues and of the Special Rapporteur of the Human Rights Council on the rights of indigenous peoples, takes note of her report, andencourages all Governments to respond favourably to her requests for visits;
The Special Rapporteur has yet to receive replies to her requests for invitations from Benin, Cambodia, Canada, Gambia, Nepal, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Viet Nam and Venezuela(Bolivarian Republic of), as well as confirmation of the new dates for her visit to India, which was postponed by the Government in April 2012.
Welcomes the work of the Special Rapporteur and urges all Governments to cooperate fully with the Special Rapporteur andto respond favourably to her requests to visit their countries and to provide her with all necessary information so as to enable her to fulfil her mandate even more effectively;
She therefore calls on them to respond favourably to her requests for invitations to visit countries, and to her requests that initiatives be undertaken to translate and disseminate the Declaration on human rights defenders, and that activities be organized to mark the tenth anniversary of the adoption of that instrument.
Reiterates its call upon all Governments to cooperate with and assist the independent expert in the discharge of her mandate, to provide her with all the necessary information requested by her andto give serious consideration to responding favourably to her requests to visit their countries in order to enable her to fulfil her duties effectively;
