The Sixth Seminar of Regional Ombudsmen of EU Member States took place in Berlin from 2 to 4 November.
They can seek redress from national administrative orjudicial authorities(including national or regional ombudsmen).
National and regional ombudsmen make a vital contribution to ensuring that citizens and residents of the EU can know and enjoy their rights.
During 2008, eight new queries were received(five from national ombudsmen and three from regional ombudsmen).
Many of these complaints could be addressed to national or regional ombudsmen or committees on petitions in national or regional parliaments.
