Concluding observations on the seventh periodic report of Switzerland.

The Committee recommends that the State party submit its seventh, eight and ninth periodic reports, due on 14 January 2013, taking into account the guidelines for the CERD-specific document adopted by the Committee during its seventy-first session(CERD/C/2007/1),and that it address all points raised in the present concluding observations.
In particular, the Committee's concluding observations should be disseminated to the public including children and should be the subject of detailed debate in parliament.
The State party should widely disseminate the Covenant, the text of the fourth periodic report, the written responses that it has provided in response to the list of issues drawn up by the Committee andthe present concluding observations so as to increase awareness among the judicial, legislative and administrative authorities, civil society and non-governmental organizations operating in the country, as well as the general public.
(3)The Committee reminds the State party that these concluding observations should be read in conjunction with its previous concluding observations adopted on the second periodic report of the State party on 21 September 2005(CRC/C/15/Add.259), and in particular with paragraphs 75 to 78 of the document, under the section“children in armed conflict”.
The State party is requested to disseminate widely the report submitted to the Committee andthe present concluding observations, in appropriate languages, through official websites, the media and non-governmental organizations.
The Committee reminds the State party that these concluding observations should be read in conjunction with its previous concluding observations adopted on the State party's initial report on 4 October 2002(CRC/C/15/Add.195).
The Committee also notes with concern the high number of intercountry adoptions, suggesting that this form of adoption is not necessarily a measure of last resort, and reiterates its concern,stated in previous concluding observations, that the State party has not ratified the Hague Convention of 1993 on Protection of Children and Cooperation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption.
The Committee reminds the State party that these concluding observations should be read in conjunction with its previous concluding observations adopted on the State party's second periodic report on 31 January 2003, contained in CRC/C/15/Add.201.
The Committee urges the State party to take allnecessary measures to address the recommendations contained in the concluding observations on its second periodic report under the Convention that have not been implemented or only partially addressed.
The Committee welcomesvarious measures taken as follow-up to the Committee's concluding observations(CRC/C/15/Add.85) after the consideration of the initial report to the implementation of the Convention, in particular:.
The Committee notes with concern that insufficient informationregarding the concrete measures for the implementation of its previous concluding observations(2001) was provided by the State Party and regrets their overall limited implementation as well as that of the Convention as a whole.
This article provides(1) some basic and general observations in relation to the concluding observations made by the Committee on the reports of the Northeast Asian countries;(2) common themes; and(3) challenges to be addressed.

While welcoming the State party's efforts to follow up the Committee's concluding observations of 2004 on its second periodic report(CRC/C/15/Add.223), the Committee notes with regret that some of the recommendations contained therein have not been fully addressed.
The Committee, while welcoming the State party's efforts to implement the concluding observations on the State party's second periodic report(CRC/C/THA/CO/2), notes with regret that a number of the recommendations contained therein have not been given sufficient follow-up.
Recalling its general recommendation No. 30(2004) on discrimination against non-citizens, the Committee reiterates its recommendation,included in paragraph 22 of its previous concluding observations, that the State party ensure that there is no discrimination in the provision of educational opportunities and that no child residing in its territory faces obstacles to school enrolment.
