The open-ended tripartite consultative group should also identify new ways to address interreligious, intercultural and intercivilizational issues and concerns, including the opportunity and mechanism for religious leaders to speak, interact and respond more clearly and quickly in times of violence, crises and conflict.
Additional activities carried out by the Office include supporting the General Assembly quadrennial comprehensive review of United Nations operational activities for development,supporting the Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations, and acting as the focal point for interreligious, intercultural and intercivilizational matters within the United Nations system, as mandated under Assembly resolution 62/90,and for the Assembly plenary meeting on development, as mandated under Assembly resolution 60/265.
