Reaffirms its appeal to all States,regional, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations and other relevant bodies to provide cooperation in various formsand special and other assistance, in particular in the most severely affected areas, with a view to facilitating peaceful reintegration through the programme of reconstruction and development.
Noting with appreciation the activities organized by the Secretary-General to mark the commemoration of the thirtieth anniversary of the opening for signature of the Convention, in cooperation with States,United Nations agencies, funds and programmes, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations and other relevant bodies, and welcoming the Declaration on the thirtieth anniversary of the opening for signature of the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, adopted by States Parties to the Convention at their twenty-second Meeting.
Calls upon all States,regional organizations, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations and other relevant bodies to provide humanitarian assistance to alleviate the humanitarian needs of the affected population in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, especially during the coming winter months, bearing in mind in particular the special situation of women, as well as children and other vulnerable groups;
Welcomes the fact that the Representative of the Secretary-General continues to use the Guiding Principles in his dialogue with Governments and intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations and other relevant actors, and requests him to continue his efforts to further the dissemination, promotion and application of the Guiding Principles and to encourage their incorporation into national legislation and policies;
Requests the Working Group to consult States, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations and other relevant actors of civil society in the implementation of the present resolution,and to report its findings on the use of mercenaries as a means of violating human rights and impeding the exercise of the right of peoples to self-determination to the General Assembly at its seventieth session and to the Human Rights Council at its thirtieth session;
External relations: extensive liaison and consultation functions are expected to be carried out by the Centre against Apartheid with Governments, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations and other relevant groups, institutionsand individuals both inside and outside South Africa, on matters relating to the coordination and provision of assistance to disadvantaged South Africans.

By its resolution 59/215, the General Assembly, inter alia, called upon all States,regional organizations, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations and other relevant bodies to continue to provide assistance to alleviate the needs of refugees, and internally displaced people, and urged development partners to assist in capacity-building, institution-building and local employment generation in their programmes.
