States parties to that Convention have assumed obligations to destroy landmine stocks, to clear mine areas and to provide resources for mine awareness and victim assistance programmes.
The Co-Chairs recommend that States parties pursue a variety of regional approaches to clearing mined areas and delivering mine risk education with a view to fulfilling the aims of the Convention.
