In the past year,UNDP has supported Pakistan and Bangladesh in the development of new programmes to support recently reestablished parliaments.
(a) A slow start in the development of new programmes related to the introduction of such new initiatives as the programme approach methodology;
The Institute's General Fundwas currently too depleted to support the development of new programmes and the sharing of experience with other institutions.

A regional initiative for HIV/AIDS and the prevention and control of other STDs contributes to the mobilization of national andinternational efforts for the development of new programmes adapted to the socio-economic and cultural situation in Latin America and the Caribbean.
In addition to the report on performance, the Board will have access to:(a) annual reports of the Administrator, which include performance data;(b)evaluations undertaken for country programmes nearing the end of their cycle and before the development of new programmes;(c) annual assessments of development results, conducted by the UNDP Evaluation Office, and other independent strategic and country-level evaluations; and(d) the donor tracking website, which will facilitate the monitoring of donor contributions.
Relevant findings should be fed into the monitoring of the Millennium Development Goals,the formulation of new national strategies and programmes for children, and the development of new programmes with defined priorities mutually agreed by UNCTs and national Governments.
In addition to this report on performance, the Executive Board will have access to:(a) Annual reports by the Administrator, which include performance data;(b)Evaluations undertaken for country programmes nearing the end of their cycle and before the development of new programmes;(c) Annual assessments of development results done by the UNDP Evaluation Office, and other independent strategic and country-level evaluations; and(d) The donor tracking website, which will facilitate monitoring of donor contributions to UNDP.
Australia will increase its assistance to South Africa by 35 per cent to 30 million Australian dollars over the next three years in programmes which, building on and consolidating earlier Australian assistance initiatives, will aim to foster nation-building and skills development,and also enable the development of new programmes in the vitally important area of providing basic needs and infrastructure for the underprivileged majority, which was so grossly disadvantaged for so long.
In addition to the biennial report on performance, the Executive Board will have access to:(i) Annual reports by the Administrator which include performance data;(ii)Evaluations undertaken for country programmes nearing the end of their cycle and before the development of new programmes;(iii) Annual assessments of development results done by the UNDP Evaluation Office, and other independent strategic and country-level evaluations; and(iv) the donor tracking website, which will facilitate monitoring of donor contributions to UNDP.
Resources to support the repositioning of theInstitute will be mobilized concurrently with the development of new programme initiatives and the boosting of staff productivity.
