The Task Force on Surveillance, mostly supported by the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe(WHO- EURO),prepared the draft technical guidance for setting up, implementing and assessing surveillance systems of water-related disease ECE/MP. WH/2010/L.3- EUDHP1003944/4.2/1/5.
The purpose of the first workshop would be to elaborate draft technical guidance on methodologies for adjustments under Article 5, paragraph 2, building upon submissions by Parties contained in documents FCCC/SBSTA/2000/MISC.1 and Add.1, FCCC/SBSTA/2000/MISC.7 and Add.1-2, as well as FCCC/TP/2000/1, for consideration by the SBSTA at its sixteenth session.
The aim of the second workshop would be to assess the results of the case studies,taking into account any information submitted by Parties in accordance with paragraphs 24 and above, and to refine the draft technical guidance mentioned in paragraph 24 above with a view to ensuring consistent application of adjustments by the different expert review teams;

In continuing the methodological work on adjustments under Article 5, paragraph 2, of the Kyoto Protocol(decision 21/CP.7), the SBSTA, at its sixteenth session, requested the secretariat to draw up,for consideration at its seventeenth session, a proposal for the development of case studies to simulate the calculation of adjustments using the methods set out in the draft technical guidance contained in document FCCC/SBSTA/2002/INF.5.
At the 2nd meeting, Mr. Audun Rosland(Norway) reported on the workshop held from 3 to 5 April 2002 in Athens, Greece,to elaborate draft technical guidance on adjustments under Article 5, paragraph 2, of the Kyoto Protocol which he had co-chaired with Mr. Newton Paciornik(Brazil) at the request of the Chair of the SBSTA.
The products elaborated by the Task Force for the second session of theMeeting of the Parties: the draft policy guidance on water-related disease surveillance; the draft technical guidance for setting up, implementing and assessing surveillance systems of water-related disease; and the assessment of the status of water-related disease surveillance in the UNECE/WHO-Euro region.
Moreover, the Chair presented the results of work and products elaborated by the Task Force, namely: the draft policy guidance on water-related disease surveillance(ECE/MP. WH/WG.1/2010/L.1- EUR/10/56335/IX), the draft technical guidance for setting up, implementing and assessing surveillance systems of water-related disease(information paper 1) and the assessment of the status of water-related disease surveillance in the UNECE/WHO-Euro region Information paper 3.
All tasks planned for 2013 had been completed, including the update of the EMEP/EEA air pollutant emission inventory guidebook, the compilation of a draft proposal for revised Emission Reporting Guidelines,the compilation of draft technical guidance and templates to be used by Parties when submitting a request for the application of the adjustment procedure following the Executive Body decisions 2012/3, 2012/4 and 2012/12 and a technical guidance document on the adjustment procedure.
