The Prophet(saws) was asked,“What is backbiting?”.
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ و سلم نے پوچھا: عائشہ کیا بات ہے؟

The expiation of backbiting a person is to ask forgiveness for him.
کسی انسان سے زیادتی ہو گئی ہو تو اس سے معافی مانگیں

The Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said,‘Do you know what is backbiting?'.
رسول اللہ صلی الله علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا کیا تم جانتے ہو کہ مفلس کون ہے

Prophet Muhammad(saw) said:"Backbiting is a worse sin than adultery.".
نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا''الغیبۃ اشد من الزنیٰ‘‘ غیبت زنا سے بڑا جرم ہے

The Messenger of Allah(sa) asked,‘Do you know what backbiting is?'.
رسول اللہ صلی الله علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا کیا تم جانتے ہو کہ مفلس کون ہے

Hypocrisy and backbiting have been likened to eating the flesh of a dead brother.
عیب گوئی اور غیبت کا مطلب مردہ بھائی کا گوشت کھانا ہے

Allah's Messenger(saw) as saying: Do you know what is backbiting?
رسول اللہ صلی الله علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا کیا تم جانتے ہو کہ مفلس کون ہے؟?

Allah said you should abhor backbiting the same way you abhor eating the flesh of your dead brother.
اسی لئے یہاں فرمایا کہ جس طرح تم اپنے مردہ بھائی کا گوشت کھانے سے گھن کرتے ہو اس سے بہت زیادہ نفرت تمہیں غیبت سے کرنی چاہیے

The Messenger of Allah(sa) asked:“Do you know what is backbiting?”.
رسول اللہ صلی الله علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا کیا تم جانتے ہو کہ مفلس کون ہے

Do you know what backbiting is? They said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He said: It is to say of your brother what he dislikes.
کیا تم جانتے ہو کہ غیبت کیا ہوتی ہے؟ صحابہ کرام نے عرض کیا کہ اللہ اور اس کے رسول ہی بہتر جانتے ہیں۔ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا:(غیبت یہ ہے کہ) تم اپنے بھائی کا ذکر اس طرح سے کرو جو اسے نا پسند ہو

Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) once asked:"Do you know what backbiting is?".
رسول اللہ صلی الله علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا کیا تم جانتے ہو کہ مفلس کون ہے

Prophet Mohammad(peace be upon him) said:"Do you know what backbiting is?".
رسول اللہ صلی الله علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا کیا تم جانتے ہو کہ مفلس کون ہے

Allah's Apostle(salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said: Do you know what is backbiting?
رسول اللہ صلی الله علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا کیا تم جانتے ہو کہ مفلس کون ہے؟?

It is narrated that Prophet Mohammad(SA) said to his companions:“Do you know what backbiting is?”.
نے رسالو کی چلم حقّے پر سے اٹھالی اور بولا-”بھلا کیا پہچان ہے اس کی؟

If the matter is false and you spread it with others then you are lying about them, but if if is true matter, then you are committing gheeba(backbiting) against them.
اگر وہ جھوٹا ہو تو اس کا جھوٹ اسی پر ہے اور اگر وہ سچا ہو، تو جس(عذاب) کا وہ تم سے وعدہ کر رہا ہے اس میں کچھ نہ کچھ تو تم پر آپڑے گا

Whoever does ghaibat of any believer man or woman, Allah will not accept his prayer(salat) and fasting(sawm) for forty days, unless he obtains the pardon of those whose backbiting he has done.”3.
جو کسی مسلمان مرد یا مسلمان عورت کی غیبت کرتا ہے،خدا چالیس دن تک اس کی نماز اور روزے کو قبول نہیں کرتا،مگر یہ کہ جس شخص کی غیبت کی گئی ہے وہ اس کو معاف کردے۔” بحارالانوار

O you who believe! Avoid much suspicions, indeed some suspicions are sins. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it(so hate backbiting). And fear Allah. Verily, Allah is the One Who accepts repentance, Most Merciful.
اے ایمان والو! بہت بدگمانیوں سے بچو یقین مانو کہ بعض بدگمانیاں گناه ہیں۔ اور بھید نہ ٹٹوﻻ کرو اور نہ تم میں سے کوئی کسی کی غیبت کرے۔ کیا تم میں سے کوئی بھی اپنے مرده بھائی کا گوشت کھانا پسند کرتا ہے؟ تم کو اس سے گھن آئے گی، اور اللہ سے ڈرتے رہو، بیشک اللہ توبہ قبول کرنے واﻻ مہربان ہے

اے ایمان والو! بہت سے گمانوں سے پرہیز کرو(بچو) کیونکہ بعض گمان گناہ ہوتے ہیں اور تجسس نہ کرو اور کوئی کسی کی غیبت نہ کرے کیا تم میں سے کوئی اس بات کو پسند کرے گا کہ وہ اپنے مُردہ بھائی کا گوشت کھا ئے؟ اس سے تمہیں کراہت آتی ہے اور اللہ(کی نافرمانی) سے ڈرو بےشک اللہ بڑا توبہ قبول کرنے والا، رحم کرنے والا ہے

O you who believe! Avoid much suspicions, indeed some suspicions are sins. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it(so hate backbiting). And fear Allah. Verily, Allah is the One Who accepts repentance, Most Merciful.
ایمان والو اکثر گمانوں سے اجتناب کرو کہ بعض گمان گناہ کا درجہ رکھتے ہیں اور خبردار ایک دوسرے کے عیب تلاش نہ کرو اور ایک دوسرے کی غیبت بھی نہ کرو کہ کیا تم میں سے کوئی اس بات کو پسند کرے گا کہ اپنے مفِدہ بھائی کا گوشت کھائے یقینا تم اسے اِرا سمجھو گے تو اللہ سے ڈرو کہ بیشک اللہ بہت بڑا توبہ کا قبول کرنے والا اور مہربان ہے

O you who believe! Avoid much suspicions, indeed some suspicions are sins. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it(so hate backbiting). And fear Allah. Verily, Allah is the One Who accepts repentance, Most Merciful.
اے اہل ایمان! بہت گمان کرنے سے احتراز کرو کہ بعض گمان گناہ ہیں۔ اور ایک دوسرے کے حال کا تجسس نہ کیا کرو اور نہ کوئی کسی کی غیبت کرے۔ کیا تم میں سے کوئی اس بات کو پسند کرے گا کہ اپنے مرے ہوئے بھائی کا گوشت کھائے؟ اس سے تو تم ضرور نفرت کرو گے۔(تو غیبت نہ کرو) اور خدا کا ڈر رکھو بےشک خدا توبہ قبول کرنے والا مہربان ہے

O believers, eschew much suspicion; some suspicion is a sin. And do not spy, neither backbite one another; would any of you like to eat the flesh of his brother dead? You would abominate it. And fear you God; assuredly God turns, and He is All-compassionate.
اے ایمان والو بہت گمانوں سے بچو بیشک کوئی گمان گناہ ہوجاتا ہے اور عیب نہ ڈھونڈھو اور ایک دوسرے کی غیبت نہ کرو کیا تم میں کوئی پسند رکھے گا کہ اپنے مرے بھائی کا گوشت کھائے تو یہ تمہیں گوارا نہ ہوگا اور اللہ سے ڈرو بیشک اللہ بہت توبہ قبول کرنے والا مہربان ہے

O ye who believe! avoid much suspicion; verily some suspicion is a sin. And espy not, nor backbite one another: would any of you love to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Ye detest that. And fear Allah verily Allah is Relenting, Merciful.
اے ایمان والو بہت گمانوں سے بچو بیشک کوئی گمان گناہ ہوجاتا ہے اور عیب نہ ڈھونڈھو اور ایک دوسرے کی غیبت نہ کرو کیا تم میں کوئی پسند رکھے گا کہ اپنے مرے بھائی کا گوشت کھائے تو یہ تمہیں گوارا نہ ہوگا اور اللہ سے ڈرو بیشک اللہ بہت توبہ قبول کرنے والا مہربان ہے

O ye who believe! Shun much suspicion; for lo! some suspicion is a crime. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one of you love to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Ye abhor that(so abhor the other)! And keep your duty(to Allah). Lo! Allah is Relenting, Merciful.
اے ایمان والو بہت گمانوں سے بچو بیشک کوئی گمان گناہ ہوجاتا ہے اور عیب نہ ڈھونڈھو اور ایک دوسرے کی غیبت نہ کرو کیا تم میں کوئی پسند رکھے گا کہ اپنے مرے بھائی کا گوشت کھائے تو یہ تمہیں گوارا نہ ہوگا اور اللہ سے ڈرو بیشک اللہ بہت توبہ قبول کرنے والا مہربان ہے

O you who have faith! Avoid much suspicion; indeed some suspicions are sins. And do not spy on one another or backbite. Will any of you love to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it. Be wary of Allah; indeed Allah is all-clement, all-merciful.
اے ایمان والو بہت گمانوں سے بچو بیشک کوئی گمان گناہ ہوجاتا ہے اور عیب نہ ڈھونڈھو اور ایک دوسرے کی غیبت نہ کرو کیا تم میں کوئی پسند رکھے گا کہ اپنے مرے بھائی کا گوشت کھائے تو یہ تمہیں گوارا نہ ہوگا اور اللہ سے ڈرو بیشک اللہ بہت توبہ قبول کرنے والا مہربان ہے

O you who have believed, avoid much[negative] assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy or backbite each other. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his brother when dead? You would detest it. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is Accepting of repentance and Merciful.
اے ایمان والو بہت گمانوں سے بچو بیشک کوئی گمان گناہ ہوجاتا ہے اور عیب نہ ڈھونڈھو اور ایک دوسرے کی غیبت نہ کرو کیا تم میں کوئی پسند رکھے گا کہ اپنے مرے بھائی کا گوشت کھائے تو یہ تمہیں گوارا نہ ہوگا اور اللہ سے ڈرو بیشک اللہ بہت توبہ قبول کرنے والا مہربان ہے

Those who stand back and backbite.
اس کو جس نے پیٹھ دی اور منہ پھیرا
