پس سب ہی ملائکہ نے سجدہ کیا سوائے ابلیس کے اس نے تکبر کیا اور وہ انکار کرنے والوں میں سے تھا

پھر جب میں اس(کے ظاہر) کو درست کر لوں اور اس(کے باطن) میں اپنی(نورانی) روح پھونک دوں تو تم اس(کی تعظیم)کے لئے سجدہ کرتے ہوئے گر پڑنا

I have found her and her people doing obeisance to the sun rather than to Allah.

میں نے اسے اور اس کی قوم کو، اللہ تعالیٰ کو چھوڑ کر سورج کو سجدہ کرتے ہوئے پایا

That they do not make obeisance to Allah, Who brings forth what is hidden in the heavens and the earth and knows what you hide and what you make manifest.

کیوں نہیں سجدہ کرتے اللہ کو جو نکالتا ہے آسمانوں اور زمین کی چھپی چیزیں اور جانتا ہے جو کچھ تم چھپاتے ہو اور ظاہر کرتے ہو

On the day when there shall be a severe affliction,and they shall be called upon to make obeisance, but they shall not be able.

(وہ دن یاد کرنے کے لائق ہے) جب پنڈلی کھولی جائے گی(یعنیسخت وقت ہوگا) اور ان(کافروں) کو سجدہ کیلئے بلایا جائے گا تو(اس وقت) وہ سجدہ نہیں کر سکیں گے

And when We said to the angels: Make obeisance to Adam, they made obeisance, but Iblis(did it not); he refused.

اور جب ہم نے فرشتوں سے کہا کہ آدم کے آگے سجدہ کرو تو سب سجدے میں گر پڑے مگر ابلیس نے انکار کیا

And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold,the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me.

پِھر اُس نے کہا دیکھو مُجھے ایک اَور خواب دیکھائی دیا ہے کہ سوُرج اور چاند اورگیارہ ستاروں نے مُجھے سِجدہ کیا

And when We said to the angels: Make obeisance to Adam, they made obeisance, but Iblis(did it not); he refused.

اور جب ہم نے فرشتوں سے فرمایا کہ آدم کو سجدہ کرو تو سب سجدہ میں گرے مگر ابلیس، اس نے نہ مانا

کیا انہوں نے اللہ کی مخلوق میں سے کسی کو بھی نہیں دیکھا؟ کہاس کے سائے دائیں بائیں جھک جھک کر اللہ تعالیٰ کے سامنے سر بسجود ہوتے اور عاجزی کا اﻇہار کرتے ہیں

He said: I am not such that I should make obeisance to a mortal whom Thou hast created of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape.

بولا مجھے زیبا نہیں کہ بشر کو سجدہ کروں جسے تو نے بجتی مٹی سے بنایا جو سیاہ بودار گارے سے تھی

تو تِیسرے دِن اَیسا ہُؤا کہ ایک شخص لشکر گاہ میں سے ساؔؤل کے پاس سے پَیراہن چاک کئے اور سر پر خاک ڈالے ہُوئے آیا اور جب وہ داؔؤد کے پاس پُہنچا توزمین پر گِرا اور سجدہ کیا

اور جب ہم نے کہا اس شہر میں داخل ہو جاؤ پھر اس میں جہاں سے چاہو بے تکلفی سےکھاؤ اور دروازہ میں سجدہ کرتے ہوئے داخل ہو اور کہتے جاؤ بخش دے تو ہم تمہارے قصور معاف کر دیں گے اور نیکی کرنے والوں کو زیادہ بھی دیں گے

کہ اسی اللہ کے لیے سجدے کریں جو آسمانوں اور زمینوں کے پوشیده چیزوں کو باہر نکالتا ہے، اور جو کچھ تم چھپاتے ہو اور ﻇاہر کرتے ہو وه سب کچھ جانتا ہے

He said: O Iblis! what prevented you that you should do obeisance to him whom I created with My two hands? Are you proud or are you of the exalted ones?

تو خدا نے کہا اے ابلیس تیرے لئے کیا شے مانع ہوئی کہ تو اسے سجدہ کرے جسے میں نے اپنے دست قدرت سے بنایا ہے تو نے غرور اختیار کیا یا تو واقعا بلند لوگوں میں سے ہے?
