The Committee encourages the State party to incorporate in its Constitution or other appropriate national legislation, such as the Law on Equal Opportunities for Men and Women,the definition of discrimination, encompassing both direct and indirect discrimination, in line with article 1 of the Convention, and the provisions on the equal rights of women and men in line with article 2(a) of the Convention.
The Committee requests the State party to ensure that the draft law on equal rights andequal opportunities contains a definition of discrimination in line with article 1 of the Convention, encompassing both direct and indirect discrimination, and extending to acts of discrimination by public and private actors, and also calls on the State party to enact speedily the draft law.
