Despite successive consensus General Assembly decisions andresolutions on the establishment of a nuclear-weapon-free zone in the region of the Middle East and other relevant Assembly resolutions affirming the gravity of Israeli nuclear armament, and despite the fact that on 29 December 2003 the Arab Group submitted a draft resolution to the Security Council(see A/58/667) calling for the elimination of all weapons of mass destruction from the region, in particular nuclear weapons, to date, unfortunately, no concrete action has resulted from those resolutions. .

Noting also the critical role of the existing forums within the United Nations system in addressing the issues of international migration and development, including through the Commission on Population and Development, Recognizing, without prejudice, the Economic and Social Council review of its subsidiary bodies, as initiated under General Assembly resolution 50/227,bearing in mind the other relevant Assembly resolutions.
The Ministers urged all partners interested in supporting South-South cooperation to be guided by the principles and objectives for such cooperation established in such internationally agreed documents as the Buenos Aires Plan of Action for Promoting and Implementing Technical Cooperation among Developing Countries, adopted by the General Assembly in its resolution 33/134 of 19 December 1978, and the Nairobi outcome document, endorsed by the General Assembly in its resolution 64/222,as well as other relevant Assembly resolutions.
The Ministers urged all partners interested in supporting South-South cooperation to be guided by the principles and objectives for such cooperation established in such internationally agreed documents as the Buenos Aires Plan of Action for Promoting and Implementing Technical Cooperation among Developing Countries that was adopted by General Assembly resolution 33/134 of 19 December 1978 and the Nairobi outcome document on South-South cooperation that was endorsed by Assembly resolution 64/222 of 21 December 2009,as well as other relevant Assembly resolutions.
That humanitarian assistance should be provided in a manner based on the principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality and independence,as enshrined in General Assembly resolution 46/182 and other relevant General Assembly resolutions.
