In his report entitled"An Agenda for Peace"(A/47/277-S/24111), the Secretary-General stressed that regional organizations in many cases possess a potential that must be utilized in the service of preventive diplomacy(including early warning systems), peacekeeping,peacemaking and postconflict peacebuilding.
