Then the Deluge swept them; for they were wrongdoers.
अन्ततः उनको तूफ़ान ने इस दशा में आ पकड़ा कि वे अत्याचारी था।

When the true promise of God draws near, those who denied the truth will stare in amazement, crying,"Woe to us! We have been so heedless of this. Indeed, we were wrongdoers.
और सच्चा वादा निकट आ लगेगा, तो क्या देखेंगे कि उन लोगों की आँखें फटी की फटी रह गई हैं, जिन्होंने इनकार किया था,"हाय, हमारा दुर्भाग्य! हम इसकी ओर से असावधान रहे, बल्कि हम ही अत्याचारी थे।

They adopted it, and so they were wrongdoers.
उन लोगों ने उसे(ईश्वर) बना लिया और वस्तुतः वे लोग अत्याचारी थे।

And their declaration when Our punishment came to them was only that they said,"Indeed, we were wrongdoers!

और सच्चा वादा निकट आ लगेगा, तो क्या देखेंगे कि उन लोगों की आँखें फटी की फटी रह गई हैं, जिन्होंने इनकार किया था,"हाय, हमारा दुर्भाग्य! हम इसकी ओर से असावधान रहे, बल्कि हम ही अत्याचारी थे।

They said,"Exalted is our Lord! Indeed, we were wrongdoers.
वे पुकार उठे,"महान और उच्च है हमारा रब! निश्चय ही हम ज़ालिम थे।

Theirs is like the custom of the people of Pharaoh and of those before them. They denied the signs of their Lord, so We destroyed them for their sins, and We drowned the people of Pharaoh. And all[of them] were wrongdoers.
जैसे फ़िरऔनियों और उनसे पहले के लोगों का हाल हुआ। उन्होंने अपने रब की आयतों को झुठलाया तो हमने उन्हें उनके गुनाहों के बदले में विनष्ट कर दिया और फ़िरऔनियों को डूबो दिया। ये सभी अत्याचारी थे।

We did not wrong them, but they themselves were wrongdoers.

तथा(याद करो) जब हमने मूसा को(तौरात प्रदान करने के लिए) चालीस रात्रि का वचन दिया, फिर उनके पीछे तुमने बछड़े को(पूज्य) बना लिया और तुम अत्याचारी थे।

Certainly We sent Noah to his people, and he remained with them for a thousand-less-fifty years. Then the flood overtook them while they were wrongdoers.
हमने नूह को उसकी क़ौम की ओर भेजा। और वह पचास साल कम एक हजार वर्ष उनके बीच रहा। अन्ततः उनको तूफ़ान ने इस दशा में आ पकड़ा कि वे अत्याचारी था।

And[when] the true promise has approached; then suddenly the eyes of those who disbelieved will be staring[in horror, while they say],"O woe to us; we had been unmindful of this; rather, we were wrongdoers.
और क़यामत का सच्चा वायदा नज़दीक आ जाए तो फिर काफिरों की ऑंखें एक दम से पथरा दी जाएँ(और कहने लगे) हाय हमारी शामत कि हम तो इस(दिन) से ग़फलत ही में(पड़े) रहे बल्कि(सच तो यूँ है कि अपने ऊपर) हम आप ज़ालिम थे।

Your Lord would not destroy the towns until He had raised an apostle in their mother city to recite to them Our signs. We would never destroy the towns except when their people were wrongdoers.
और तुम्हारा परवरदिगार जब तक उन गाँव के सदर मक़ाम पर अपना पैग़म्बर न भेज ले और वह उनके सामने हमारी आयतें न पढ़ दे(उस वक्त तक) बस्तियों को बरबाद नहीं कर दिया करता-और हम तो बस्तियों को बरबाद करते ही नहीं जब तक वहाँ के लोग ज़ालिम न हों।
