This Directive does not affect Member States' rules of criminal law.
Amendments 7 and part of amendment 72 clarify,both in a recital and in the text of Article 1, that the Directive does not affect measures taken by Member States, in accordance with Community law, in relation to the protection or promotion of cultural and linguistic diversity and media pluralism.
