As requested by the Economic and Social Council in its resolution 2009/19,the Secretary-General prepared the sixteenth revised edition of the Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods: Model Regulations.
In Table A of Chapter 3.2, column(7a), add the maximum quantity per inner packaging or article for carrying dangerous goods as limited quantities, as given in Chapter 3.2 of the UN Recommendations on theTransport of Dangerous Goods, Model Regulations, sixteenth revised edition document ST/SG/AC.10/1/Rev.16.
TP38 The portable tank instruction T9 prescribed in the Model Regulations annexed to the sixteenth revised edition of the Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods may continue to be applied until 31 December 2018.

The regulations for road transport in Thailand are based on the 2011 edition of the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road(reflecting the sixteenth revised edition of the Model Regulations) and are currently being updated to reflect the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road(2013 edition) and the seventeenth revised edition of the Model Regulations.

On the one hand, sub-section 5.3.2.2 of the UN Model Regulations, sixteenth revised edition, requires the elevated temperature mark for transport units containing a substance that is transported or offered for transport in a liquid state at a temperature equal to or exceeding 100 °C and in a solid state at a temperature equal to or exceeding 240 °C.
It will consider the work of both sub-committees over the 2007-2008 biennium andadopt recommendations that should be published by the secretariat in 2009 as the sixteenth revised edition of the Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Model Regulations; fifth revised edition of the Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria; and the third revised edition of the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals.
On the basis of that work, the Committee adopted amendments2 to the sixteenth revised edition of the Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods: Model Regulations and to the fifthrevised edition of the Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods: Manual of Tests and Criteria consisting mainly of new or revised provisions concerning.
On this basis, the secretariat will prepare andpublish in 2009 the sixteenth revised edition of the Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Model Regulations; the fifth revised edition of the Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria; and the third revised edition of the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals.
The Committee noted with satisfaction that the secretariat had published the sixteenth revised edition of the Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Model Regulations(ST/SG/AC.10/1/Rev.16), the fifth revised edition of the Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria(ST/SG/AC.10/11/Rev.5) and the third revised edition of the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals(GHS)(ST/SG/AC.10/30/Rev.3) in all official languages of the United Nations.
The Committee may also wish to note that, pursuant to operative paragraph 2 of sections A and B,the secretariat has already published the sixteenth revised edition of the United Nations Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Model Regulations(in English, French and Spanish), the fifth revised edition of the Manual of Tests and Criteria(in English and French) and the third revised edition of the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals(GHS) in English, French and Russian.
Six international legal instruments were brought into line with the revised sixteenth edition of the United Nations Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods: Model Regulations.
The final paper,with the changes adopted at the sixteenth session and revised at the Bureau meeting of the Working Party in March 2007, is available as document ECE/TRADE/C/WP.6/2007/11.
Australia stated its intention to hold intersessional discussions on the issue with a view to presenting a revised proposal to the Sixteenth Meeting of the Parties.
