അപ്പോള്‍ അവരദ്ദേഹത്തെ തള്ളിപ്പറഞ്ഞു. അതിനാല്‍ ഒരു ഭീകരപ്രകമ്പനം അവരെ പിടികൂടി. അതോടെ അവര്‍ തങ്ങളുടെ വീടുകളില്‍ വീണടിഞ്ഞവരായി.

And We did not show them a sign but it was greater than its like, and We overtook them with chastisement that they may turn.
അവര്‍ക്ക് നാം ഓരോ ദൃഷ്ടാന്തവും കാണിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു കൊണ്ടിരുന്നത് അതിന്‍റെ ഇണയെക്കാള്‍ മഹത്തരമായിക്കൊണ്ട് തന്നെയായിരുന്നു. അവര്‍( ഖേദിച്ചു) മടങ്ങുവാന്‍ വേണ്ടി നാം അവരെ ശിക്ഷകള്‍ മുഖേന പിടികൂടുകയും ചെയ്തു.

ആ നാടുകളിലുള്ളവര്‍ വിശ്വസിക്കുകയും, സൂക്ഷ്മത പാലിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ ആകാശത്തുനിന്നും ഭൂമിയില്‍ നിന്നും നാം അവര്‍ക്കു അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങള്‍ തുറന്നുകൊടുക്കുമായിരുന്നു. പക്ഷെ അവര്‍ നിഷേധിച്ചു തള്ളുകയാണ് ചെയ്തത്‌. അപ്പോള്‍ അവര്‍ ചെയ്ത് വെച്ചിരുന്നതിന്‍റെ ഫലമായി നാം അവരെ പിടികൂടി.

And verily, there had come unto them a Messenger(Muhammad SAW) from among themselves, but they denied him, so the torment overtook them while they were Zalimunpolytheists and wrong-doers.
അവരില്‍നിന്നുതന്നെയുള്ള ഒരു ദൈവദൂതന്‍ അവരുടെ അടുത്തു ചെന്നു. അപ്പോള്‍ അവരദ്ദേഹത്തെ കളവാക്കി. അവരങ്ങനെ അക്രമികളായി. ശിക്ഷ അവരെ പിടികൂടുകയും ചെയ്തു.

അവസാനം നമ്മുടെ വിധി വന്നപ്പോള്‍ ശുഐബിനെയും അദ്ദേഹത്തോടൊപ്പം വിശ്വസിച്ചവരെയും നാം നമ്മുടെ കാരുണ്യത്താല്‍ രക്ഷപ്പെടുത്തി. അക്രമം കാണിച്ചവരെ ഘോരഗര്‍ജനം പിടികൂടി. അങ്ങനെ അവര്‍ പ്രഭാതത്തില്‍ തങ്ങളുടെ വീടുകളില്‍ കമിഴ്ന്നുവീണു കിടക്കുന്നവരായിത്തീര്‍ന്നു;
