In addition to its training and technical content, the Pericles programme provides a forum for regular contacts among experts responsible for the protection of the euro but importantly, also enables professionals to develop links which contribute to closer working relationships and improved cooperation overall.
Proposed extension and amount In line also with the recommendation of the evaluator of Pericles,it is appropriate to extend the Pericles programme, based on the need to:-- continue vigilance in order to maintain or reduce the current level of euro banknote counterfeiting and avoid any increase in euro coin counterfeiting that would undermine the confidence of the public;
