اور وہ یہودیوں کی کہانیوں اور ان آدمیوں کے حکموں پر توجہ نہ کریں جو حق سے گمراہ ہوتے ہیں

It's clear that they don't consider themselves to be writing fables.
یہ وہ قصے لکھ جائے کرنے کے لئے خود پر غور نہیں کرتے کہ واضحہے

And they say:"These are fables of antiquity he has invented, which are dictated to him morning and evening.".
کہتے ہیں یہ پرانے لوگوں کی لکھی ہوئی چیزیں ہیں جنہیں یہ شخص نقل کرتا ہے اور وہ اِسے صبح و شام سنائی جاتی ہیں

But he says:"All this is nothing but fables of the ancients!".
پس وہ جواب دیتا ہے کہ یہ سب محض اگلوں کے فسانے ہیں

When Our revelations are recited to him, he says,"These are just ancient fables.".
جب اس پر ہماری آیتیں پڑھی جاتی ہیں تو کہتا ہے پہلوں کی کہانیاں ہیں

And they say: fables of the ancients which he hath had written down, so they are dictated unto him, morning and evening.
کہتے ہیں یہ پرانے لوگوں کی لکھی ہوئی چیزیں ہیں جنہیں یہ شخص نقل کرتا ہے اور وہ اِسے صبح و شام سنائی جاتی ہیں

When Our revelations are recited to him, he says,“Ancient fables!
جب اس پر ہماری آیتیں پڑھی جاتی ہیں تو کہتا ہے پہلوں کی کہانیاں ہیں

And when they are asked:‘What has your Lord sent down?' they retort:‘False fables of the people gone by(have been sent down).'.
اور جب اُن سے پوچھا جاتا ہے کہ تمہارے رب نے کیا نازل فرمایا ہے؟(تو) وہ کہتے ہیں: اگلی قوموں کے جھوٹے قصے(اتارے ہیں)o

So, when they come to you, they argue with you: the disbelievers say,'These are nothing but ancient fables.'".
یہاں تک کہ جب تمہارے پاس تم سے بحث کرنے کو آتے ہیں تو جو کافر ہیں کہتے ہیں یہ(قرآن) اور کچھ بھی نہیں صرف پہلے لوگوں کی کہانیاں ہیں

When you recite Our revelations to him, he says:"These are fables of long ago.".
جب ہماری آیات اُس کو سنائی جاتی ہیں تو کہتا ہے یہ تو اگلے وقتوں کے افسانے ہیں

Among them are some who listen to you, but We have placed veils over their hearts and deafness in their ears which prevent them from understanding what you say. Even if they saw all the signs, they would still not believe in them. When those who deny the truth come to dispute with you, they will say,"This is nothing but ancient fables,".
اور بعض ان میں سے تیری طرف کان لگائے رہتے ہیں اور ہم نے ان کے دلوں پر پردے ڈال رکھے ہیں جس کی وجہ سے وہ کچھ نہیں سمجھتے اور ان کے کانو ں میں گرانی ہے اور اگر یہ تمام نشانیاں بھی دیکھ لیں تو بھی ان پر ایمان نہ لادیں گے جب وہ تمہارے پاس آ کر تم سے جھگڑتے ہیں تو کافر کہتے ہیں کہ یہ تو پہلے لوگو ں کی کہانیاں ہی ہیں

When Our revelations are recited before him, he says:"These are fables of long ago.".
کہ جب اس کے سامنے ہماری آیتیں پڑھی جاتی ہیں تو وہ کہتا ہے کہ یہ تو پہلے زمانے والوں کے افسانے ہیں

But he who says to his parents:"Shame on you: You intimidate me that I will be resurrected when many generations will have passed before me?" And(the parents) would implore God's help:"Woe to you. You better believe. The promise of God is certainly true." Yet he answers:"These are only fables of long ago.".
اور جس نے اپنے ماں باپ سے کہا کہ تم پر تف ہے کیاتم مجھے یہ وعدہ دیتے ہو کہ میں قبر سے نکالا جاؤں گا حالانکہ مجھ سے پہلے بہت سی امتیں گزر گئیں اور وہ دونوں الله سے فریاد کر رہے ہیں کہ ارے تیرا ناس ہو ایمان لا بے شک الله کاوعدہ سچا ہے پھر وہ کہتا ہے یہ ہے کیا مگر پہلوں کے افسانے

We and our forefathers were promised this before. This is nothing but fables of the ancients.".
بیشک ایسا ہی وعدہ ہم سے بھی کیا گیا ہے اور ہم سے پہلے والوں سے بھی کیا گیا ہے لیکن یہ صرف پرانے لوگوں کی کہانیاں ہیں

And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto them, they say: we have heard; we could if we willed, surely say something the like thereof; naught is this but fables of the ancients.
اور جب ان پر ہماری آیتیں پڑھی جاتی ہیں(تو) وہ کہتے ہیں: بیشک ہم نے سن لیا اگر ہم چاہیں تو ہم بھی اس(کلام) کے مثل کہہ سکتے ہیں یہ تو اگلوں کی(خیالی) داستانوں کے سوا(کچھ بھی) نہیں ہے

We were already promised this, we and our forefathers. Lo! this is naught but fables of the men of old.
بیشک ایسا ہی وعدہ ہم سے بھی کیا گیا ہے اور ہم سے پہلے والوں سے بھی کیا گیا ہے لیکن یہ صرف پرانے لوگوں کی کہانیاں ہیں

And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto them, they say: we have heard; we could if we willed, surely say something the like thereof; naught is this but fables of the ancients.
اور جب ان کے سامنے ہماری آیتیں پڑھی جاتی ہیں تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے سن لیا اور اگر ہم چاہیں تو اس کے برابر ہم بھی کہہ دیں اس میں پہلو ں کے قصے کے سوا اور کچھ نہیں

We were promised this, forsooth, we and our fathers.(All) this is naught but fables of the men of old.
یہ وعدہ ہم سے اور ہمارے باپ دادا سے پہلے سے ہوتا چلا آیا ہے(کہاں کا اُٹھنا اور کیسی قیامت) یہ تو صرف پہلے لوگوں کی کہانیاں ہیں

And of them are some who hearken unto thee and We have set over their hearts veils lest they understand it, and in their ears heaviness, and though they see any sign they will not believe therein: in as much as when they come to thee, they dispute with thee. Then who disbelieve say: this is naught but the fables of the ancients.
اور ان میں کوئی وہ ہے جو تمہاری طرف کان لگاتا ہے اور ہم نے ان کے دلوں پر غلاف کردیے ہیں کہ اسے نہ سمجھیں اور ان کے کانٹ میں ٹینٹ(روئی) اور اگر ساری نشانیاں دیکھیں تو ان پر ایمان نہ لائیں گے یہاں تک کہ جب تمہارے حضور تم سے جھگڑتے حاضر ہوں تو کافر کہیں یہ تو نہیں مگر اگلوں کی داستانیں

And when it is said unto them: what is it that your Lord hath sent down? they say: fables of the ancient.
اور جب کوئی ان سے پوچھتا ہے کہ تمہارے رب نے یہ کیا چیز نازل کی ہے، تو کہتے ہیں"اجی وہ تو اگلے وقتوں کی فرسودہ کہانیاں ہیں

Of them are some who listen unto thee, but We have placed upon their hearts veils, lest they should understand, and in their ears a deafness. If they saw every token they would not believe therein; to the point that, when they come unto thee to argue with thee, the disbelievers say: This is naught else than fables of the men of old.
اور ان میں کوئی وہ ہے جو تمہاری طرف کان لگاتا ہے اور ہم نے ان کے دلوں پر غلاف کردیے ہیں کہ اسے نہ سمجھیں اور ان کے کانٹ میں ٹینٹ(روئی) اور اگر ساری نشانیاں دیکھیں تو ان پر ایمان نہ لائیں گے یہاں تک کہ جب تمہارے حضور تم سے جھگڑتے حاضر ہوں تو کافر کہیں یہ تو نہیں مگر اگلوں کی داستانیں

When they come to you to argue with you, the unbelievers say: These are nothing but fables of the men of old.
یہاں تک کہ جب تمہارے پاس تم سے بحث کرنے کو آتے ہیں تو جو کافر ہیں کہتے ہیں یہ(قرآن) اور کچھ بھی نہیں صرف پہلے لوگوں کی کہانیاں ہیں

But he who says to his parents:“Fie on you! Do you threaten me that I shall be resurrected, although myriad generations have passed away before me(and not one of them was resurrected)?” The parents beseech Allah(and say to their child):“Woe to you, have faith. Surely Allah's promise is true.” But he says:“All this is nothing but fables of olden times.”.
اور جس نے اپنے ماں باپ سے کہا کہ تم پر تف ہے کیاتم مجھے یہ وعدہ دیتے ہو کہ میں قبر سے نکالا جاؤں گا حالانکہ مجھ سے پہلے بہت سی امتیں گزر گئیں اور وہ دونوں الله سے فریاد کر رہے ہیں کہ ارے تیرا ناس ہو ایمان لا بے شک الله کاوعدہ سچا ہے پھر وہ کہتا ہے یہ ہے کیا مگر پہلوں کے افسانے

And when Our verses are recited to them, they say:'We have heard. We could, if we willed, compose the like of it. They, are nothing but fables of the ancient times.'.
اور جب ان کے سامنے ہماری آیتیں پڑھی جاتی ہیں تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے سن لیا اور اگر ہم چاہیں تو اس کے برابر ہم بھی کہہ دیں اس میں پہلو ں کے قصے کے سوا اور کچھ نہیں

اور ان میں سے بعض لوگ کان لگا کر آپ کی بات سنتے ہیں لیکن ہم نے ان کے دلوں پر پردے ڈال دئیے ہیں… یہ سمجھ نہیں سکتے ہیں اور ان کے کانوں میں بھی بہراپن ہے-یہ اگر تمام نشانیوں کو دیکھ لیں تو بھی ایمان نہ لائیں گے یہاں تک کہ جب آپ کے پاس آئیں گے تو بھی بحث کریں گے اور کفار کہیں گے کہ یہ قرآن تو صرف اگلے لوگوں کی کہانیہے

And when Our revelations are recited unto them they say: We have heard. If we wish we can speak the like of this. Lo! this is naught but fables of the men of old.
اور جب ان کے سامنے ہماری آیات پڑھی جاتی ہیں تو کہتے ہیں ہاں ہم نے سن لیا۔ اگر ہم چاہیں تو ہم بھی ایسا کلام پیش کر سکتے ہیں۔ یہ نہیں ہیں مگر گزرے ہوئے لوگوں کی داستانیں

And when Our revelations are recited unto them they say: We have heard. If we wish we can speak the like of this. Lo! this is naught but fables of the men of old.
اور جب ان کے سامنے ہماری آیتیں پڑھی جاتی ہیں تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے سن لیا اور اگر ہم چاہیں تو اس کے برابر ہم بھی کہہ دیں اس میں پہلو ں کے قصے کے سوا اور کچھ نہیں

And when Our revelations are recited unto them they say: We have heard. If we wish we can speak the like of this. Lo! this is naught but fables of the men of old.
اور جب ان کو ہماری آیتیں پڑھ کر سنائی جاتی ہیں تو کہتے ہیں(یہ کلام) ہم نے سن لیا ہے اگر ہم چاہیں تو اسی طرح کا(کلام) ہم بھی کہہ دیں اور یہ ہے ہی کیا صرف اگلے لوگوں کی حکایتیں ہیں

And of them there are some who appear to pay heed to you, but upon their hearts We have laid coverings so they understand it not; and in their ears, heaviness(so they hear not). Even if they were to witness every sign, they would still not believe in it so much so that when they come to you, they dispute with you, those who disbelieve contend:'This is nothing but fables of the ancient times.'.
اور ان میں کوئی وہ ہے جو تمہاری طرف کان لگاتا ہے اور ہم نے ان کے دلوں پر غلاف کردیے ہیں کہ اسے نہ سمجھیں اور ان کے کانٹ میں ٹینٹ(روئی) اور اگر ساری نشانیاں دیکھیں تو ان پر ایمان نہ لائیں گے یہاں تک کہ جب تمہارے حضور تم سے جھگڑتے حاضر ہوں تو کافر کہیں یہ تو نہیں مگر اگلوں کی داستانیں
