ان کی مثال اس انسان کی سی ہے جس نے آگ جلائی اور جب آگ نے اردگرد روشنی کر دی تو الله پاک نے ان کی روشنی اچک لی اور انہیں اندھیروں میں چھوڑ دیا

Allah took away their light, and left them in utter darkness-(so that) they do not see.
اللہ نے ان کا نور چھین لیا ہے انہیں اندھیروں میں چھوڑ دیا ہے جہاں انھیں کچھ نظر نہیں آتا

Or like utter darkness in the deep sea: there covers it a wave above which is another wave.
یا جیسے اندھیرے گہرے دریا میں،چڑھی آتی ہے اس پر ایک لہر، اُس پر ایک لہر، اُسکے اوپر ایک بدلی

Or like abundant rain from the cloud in which is utter darkness and thunder and lightning.

یا وہ جو تمہیں راہ دکھاتا ہے اندھیریوں میں خشکی اور تری کی اور وہ کہ ہوائیں بھیجتا ہے، اپنی رحمت کے آگے خوشحبری سناتی کیا اللہ کے ساتھ کوئی اور خدا ہے، برتر ہے اللہ ان کے شرک سے

He it is Who sends His blessings on you, and(so do) His angels, that He may bring you forth out of utter darkness into the light; and He is Merciful to the believers.
وہی ہے جو تم پر رحمت بھیجتا ہے اور اس کے فرشتے بھی تاکہ وہ تمہیں اندھیروں سے نور کی طرف نکالے اور وہ مومنوں کے حق میں بار بار رحم کرنے والا ہے

Or like abundant rain from the cloud in which is utter darkness and thunder and lightning; they put their fingers into their ears because of the thunder peal, for fear of death, and Allah encompasses the unbelievers.
یا جیسا کہ آسمان سے بارش ہو جس میں اندھیرے اور گرج اور بجلی ہو اپنی انگلیاں اپنے کانوں میں کڑک کے سبب سے موت کے ڈر سے دیتے ہوں اور الله کافروں کو گھیرے ہوئے ہے

Their parable is like the parable of one who kindled a fire, but when it had illumined all around him, Allah took away their light, and left them in utter darkness-- they do not see.
ان کی کہاوت اس طرح ہے جس نے آگ روشن کی۔ تو جب اس سے آس پاس سب جگمگا اٹھا اللہ ان کا نور لے گیا اور انہیں اندھیریوں میں چھوڑ دیا کہ کچھ نہیں سوجھتا

And they who reject Our communications are deaf and dumb, in utter darkness; whom Allah pleases He causes to err and whom He pleases He puts on the right way.
اور جن لوگوں نے ہماری آیتوں کو جھٹلایا وہ بہرے اور گونگے ہیں، تاریکیوں میں(بھٹک رہے) ہیں۔ اﷲ جسے چاہتا ہے اسے(انکارِ حق اور ضد کے باعث) گمراہ کردیتا ہے، اور جسے چاہتا ہے اسے(قبولِ حق کے باعث) سیدھی راہ پر لگا دیتا ہے

Their parable is like the parable of one who kindled a fire, but when it had illumined all around him, Allah took away their light, and left them in utter darkness-- they do not see.
ان کی مثال ایسے شخص کی مانند ہے جس نے(تاریک ماحول میں) آگ جلائی اور جب اس نے گرد و نواح کو روشن کر دیا تو اللہ نے ان کا نور سلب کر لیا اور انہیں تاریکیوں میں چھوڑ دیا اب وہ کچھ نہیں دیکھتے

Bring forth your people from utter darkness into light and remind them of the days of Allah; most surely there are signs in this for every patient, grateful one(14:5).
تم اپنی قوم کو اندھیروں سے نکال کر نور کی طرف لے جاؤ اور انہیں اﷲ کے دنوں کی یاد دلاؤ(جو ان پر اور پہلی اُمتوں پر آچکے تھے)، بے شک اس میں ہر زیادہ صبر کرنے والے(اور) خوب شکر بجا لانے والے کے لیے نشانیاں ہیںo‘

He it is who sends down clear communications upon His servant, that he may bring you forth from utter darkness into light; and most surely Allah is Kind, Merciful to you.
وہ اللہ ہی تو ہے جو اپنے بندے پر صاف صاف آیتیں نازل کر رہا ہے تاکہ تمہیں تاریکیوں سے نکال کر روشنی میں لے آئے، اور حقیقت یہ ہے کہ اللہ تم پر نہایت شفیق اور مہربان ہے

Or, Who guides you in utter darkness of the land and the sea, and Who sends the winds as good news before His mercy. Is there a god with Allah? Exalted by Allah above what they associate(with Him).
بھلا کون ہے جو تمہیں جنگل اور دریا کے اندھیروں میں راستہ بتاتاہے اور اپنی رحمت سے پہلے کون خوشخبری کی ہوائیں چلاتا ہے کیا الله کے ساتھ کوئی اور معبود ہے الله ان کے شرک کرنے سے بہت بلند ہے

وہی ہے جو اپنے(برگزیدہ) بندے پر واضح نشانیاں نازل فرماتا ہے تاکہ تمہیں اندھیروں سے روشنی کی طرف نکال لے جائے، اور بیشک اللہ تم پر نہایت شفقت فرمانے والا نہایت رحم فرمانے والا ہے

کیا وه جو تمہیں خشکی اور تری کی تاریکیوں میں راه دکھاتا ہے اور جو اپنی رحمت سے پہلے ہی خوشخبریاں دینے والی ہوائیں چلاتا ہے، کیا اللہ کے ساتھ کوئی اور معبود بھی ہے جنہیں یہ شریک کرتے ہیں ان سب سے اللہ بلند وباﻻتر ہے

With it Allah guides him who will follow His pleasure into the ways of safety and brings them out of utter darkness into light by His will and guides them to the right path.
جس کے ذریعہ سے اللہ تعالیٰ انہیں جو رضائے رب کے درپے ہوں سلامتی کی راہیں بتلاتا ہے اور اپنی توفیق سے اندھیروں سے نکال کر نور کی طرف ﻻتا ہے اور راه راست کی طرف ان کی رہبری کرتا ہے

Alif Lam Ra.(This is) a Book which We have revealed to you that you may bring forth men, by their Lord's permission from utter darkness into light-- to the way of the Mighty, the Praised One.
ا ل ر اے محمدؐ، یہ ایک کتاب ہے جس کو ہم نے تمہاری طرف نازل کیا ہے تاکہ تم لوگوں کو تاریکیوں سے نکال کر روشنی میں لاؤ، ان کے رب کی توفیق سے، اُس خدا کے راستے پر جو زبردست اور اپنی ذات میں آپ محمود ہے

اورالبتہ تحقیق ہم نے موسیٰ کو اپنی نشانیاں دےکر بھیجا تھا کہاپنی قوم کو اندھیروں سے روشنی کی طرف نکال اورانہیں الله کے دن یاد دلا بے شک اس میں ہر ایک صبر شکر کرنے والے کے لیے بڑی نشانیاں ہیں

الف، لام، را۔(اے رسول(ص)) یہ ایک کتاب ہے جو ہم نے آپ پر اس لئے نازل کی ہے کہ آپ لوگوں کو ان کے پروردگار کے حکم سے(کفر کی) تاریکیوں سے نکال کر(ایمان کی) روشنی کی طرف لائیں(یعنی) اس خدا کے راستہ کی طرف جو غالب(اور) قابل تعریف ہے
