The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia holds that such an incident provoked by a neo-fascist political group in Croatia, headed by its president, in the presence of Croatian police officers, exemplifies incitement of national hatred and intimidation of members of the Serb national minority living in the Republic of Croatia, an attempt at revisionism of history, as well as at glorification of the Ustashi movement and its insignia.

Због тога посебно забрињава чињеница да је у Хрватској у последњих неколико година дошло до пораста антисрпског расположења и повећаног броја инцидената према припадницима српске националне мањине, да је приметно маргинализовање мањинских права, као и да наведене појаве не наилазе на осуду највиших државних званичника Републике Хрватске, а ни међународне заједнице.
This is why particular concerns are raised by the fact that an increasingly anti-Serb climate, rising number of incidents against the Serb national minority, evident marginalization of minority rights, and the lack of condemnation of the said phenomena by top officials of the Republic of Croatia, as well as the international community, have been noted in Croatia over the past several years.

In the course of the debate, the Committee members discussed other problems Serbs living in Croatia have, such as property recovery, employment of members of the Serbian national minority, war crime trials, assimilation of Serbs in Croatia, non-implementation of the Constitutional law on national minorities, problems of refugees, missing persons, poverty and the development of areas populated by Serbs.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia takes this opportunity to bring to the attention of the Republic of Croatia that nationalist acts are made, and hate speech is used, almost on a daily basis, creating a sense of vulnerability among members of the Serbian national minority, which is a direct result of the failure on the part of the competent authorities of the Republic of Croatia to appropriately sanction and publicly condemn such acts.
