The revised guidelines on integration of environmental issues are of particular importance.
In April 2004 the European Parliament andthe Council adopted the revised guidelines with Decision No 884/2004/EC6, amending Decision No 1692/96/EC.
The revised guidelines were adopted together with the PHARE CBC Regulation on 6 September 2002.
In line with the Community's international obligations to implement the revised guidelines, parts of these guidelines will be implemented as minimum standards through this proposal.

Mr President, the revised guidelines will extend the European Union's current gas and electricity transmission networks to the new Member States, and I welcome that.
Implementing the revised Guidelines for Good TPA Practice, as agreed in September 2003, would result in access conditions to the network compatible to the requirements of such a market.
