تو انہوں نے اس پر بھی یہ کہا کہ پروردگار ہمارے سفر دور دراز بنادے اوراس طرح اپنے نفس پر ظلم کیا تو ہم نے انہیں کہانی بناکر چھوڑ دیا اور انہیں ٹکڑے ٹکڑے کردیا کہ یقینا اس میں صبر و شکر کرنے والوں کے لئے بڑی نشانیاں پائی جاتی ہیں

But they were ungrateful and rebellious and wronged themselves.
اس لئے کہ یہ سب نافرمان تھے اور ظلم کیا کرتے تھے

But[insolently] they said,"Our Lord, lengthen the distance between our journeys," and wronged themselves, so We made them narrations and dispersed them in total dispersion. Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful.
تو انہوں نے اس پر بھی یہ کہا کہ پروردگار ہمارے سفر دور دراز بنادے اوراس طرح اپنے نفس پر ظلم کیا تو ہم نے انہیں کہانی بناکر چھوڑ دیا اور انہیں ٹکڑے ٹکڑے کردیا کہ یقینا اس میں صبر و شکر کرنے والوں کے لئے بڑی نشانیاں پائی جاتی ہیں

Then they said: Our Lord make the distance between our journeys longer. And they wronged themselves. Wherefore We made them by words and dispersed them with a total dispersion. Verily herein are signs for every persevering, grateful persons.
تو انہوں نے اس پر بھی یہ کہا کہ پروردگار ہمارے سفر دور دراز بنادے اوراس طرح اپنے نفس پر ظلم کیا تو ہم نے انہیں کہانی بناکر چھوڑ دیا اور انہیں ٹکڑے ٹکڑے کردیا کہ یقینا اس میں صبر و شکر کرنے والوں کے لئے بڑی نشانیاں پائی جاتی ہیں

Are they waiting for anything else than that the angels should appear before them, or that your Lord's judgement should come? Many before them acted with similar temerity. And then what happened with them was not Allah's wrong-doing; they rather wronged themselves.
کاہے کے انتظار میں ہیں مگر اس کے کہ فرشتے ان پر آئیں یا تمہارے رب کا عذاب آئے ان سے اگلوں نے ایسا ہی کیا اور اللہ نے ان پر کچھ ظلم نہ کیا، ہاں وہ خود ہی اپنی جانوں پر ظلم کرتے تھے

And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves.
اور اسے اور اسحاقؑ کو برکت دی اب ان دونوں کی ذریّت میں سے کوئی محسن ہے اور کوئی اپنے نفس پر صریح ظلم کرنے والا ہے

جنہوں نے ہماری آیتوں کو جھٹلایا ان کی بری مثال ہے اور وہ اپنا ہی نقصان کرتے رہے

But then the Qur'an would say that it was not God who wronged them but they wronged themselves(29:40).
قرآن مجید میں فرمان الہی ہے کہ:"اور اللہ نے ان پر کوئی ظلم نہیں کیا ہے، بلکہ یہ خود ہی اپنے نفس پر ظلم کرتے رہے ہیں"(سورہ نحل// آیت 33
