Is he who founds his building on Godwariness and[ the pursuit of Allah s'] pleasure better-off or he who founds his building on the brink of a collapsing bank which collapses with himinto the fire of hell? Allah does not guide the wrongdoing lot.
The example of those who were entrusted with the Taurat, and did not carry out its commands, is like the donkey carrying books; what a wretched example isof the people who denied the signs of Allah; and Allah does not guide the unjust.
So is one who established his foundation upon the fear of Allah and upon His pleasure better, or the one who laid his foundation upon the brink of a falling precipice, so it fell along withhim into the fire of hell? And Allah does not guide the unjust.
The likeness of those who were charged with the Taurat, then they did not observe it, is as the likeness of the ass bearing books, evil is the likenessof the people who reject the communications of Allah; and Allah does not guide the unjust people.
