It is all the same for them whether you ask forgiveness for them or do not ask forgiveness for them; never will Allah forgive them. Indeed, Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.
سواء عليهم أستغفرت لهم» استغني بهمزة الاستفهام عن همزة الوصل« أم لم تستغفر لهم لن يغفر الله لهم إن الله لا يهدي القوم الفاسقين

Those who disbelieve in the verses of Allah, Allah does not guide them for them is a painful punishment.
إن الكفار الذين لا يصدقون بالقرآن لا يوفقهم الله لإصابة الحق، ولهم في الآخرة عذاب مؤلم موجع

How will God guide a people who disbelieved after having believed, and had witnessed that the Messenger is true, and the clear proofs had come to them? God does not guide the unjust people.
كيف» أي لا« يهدي الله قوما كفروا بعد إيمانهم وشهدوا» أي شهادتهم« أن الرسول حق و» قد« جاءهم البينات» الحجج الظاهرات على صدق النبي« والله لا يهدي القوم الظالمين» أي الكافرين

Those who disbelieve in the signs of Allah Allah- does not guide them, and for them is a punishment, most painful.
إن الكفار الذين لا يصدقون بالقرآن لا يوفقهم الله لإصابة الحق، ولهم في الآخرة عذاب مؤلم موجع

If you should ask forgiveness for them seventy times- never will Allah forgive them. That is because they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger, and Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.
استغفر-أيها الرسول- للمنافقين أو لا تستغفر لهم، فلن يغفر الله لهم، مهما كثر استغفارك لهم وتكرر؛ لأنهم كفروا بالله ورسوله. والله سبحانه وتعالى لا يوفق للهدى الخارجين عن طاعته

Even if you should strive for their guidance,[ O Muhammad], indeed, Allah does not guide those He sends astray, and they will have no helpers.
إن تحرص» يا محمد« على هداهم» وقد أضلهم الله لا تقدر على ذلك« فإن الله لا يُهدِي» بالبناء للمفعول وللفاعل« من يضل» من يريد إضلاله« وما لهم من ناصرين» مانعين من عذاب الله

It is equal for them whether you ask for their forgiveness or you do not ask for their forgiveness, Allah will not forgive them. Allah does not guide the evildoers.
سواء على هؤلاء المنافقين أطلبت لهم المغفرة من الله-أيها الرسول- أم لم تطلب لهم، إن الله لن يصفح عن ذنوبهم أبدًا؛ لإصرارهم على الفسق ورسوخهم في الكفر. إن الله لا يوفِّق للإيمان القوم الكافرين به، الخارجين عن طاعته

How shall Allah guide a people who have disbelieved after their faith and[ after] bearing witness that the Apostle is true, and[ after] manifest proofs had come to them? Allah does not guide the wrongdoing lot.
كيف» أي لا« يهدي الله قوما كفروا بعد إيمانهم وشهدوا» أي شهادتهم« أن الرسول حق و» قد« جاءهم البينات» الحجج الظاهرات على صدق النبي« والله لا يهدي القوم الظالمين» أي الكافرين

How shall Allah guide a people who disbelieved after their believing and( after) they had borne witness that the Apostle was true and clear arguments had come to them; and Allah does not guide the unjust people.
كيف» أي لا« يهدي الله قوما كفروا بعد إيمانهم وشهدوا» أي شهادتهم« أن الرسول حق و» قد« جاءهم البينات» الحجج الظاهرات على صدق النبي« والله لا يهدي القوم الظالمين» أي الكافرين

( Muhammad), whether you ask God to forgive them or not, He will never do so, even if you were to beg seventy times; they have disbelieved in God and His Messenger and God does not guide the evil-doers.
استغفر-أيها الرسول- للمنافقين أو لا تستغفر لهم، فلن يغفر الله لهم، مهما كثر استغفارك لهم وتكرر؛ لأنهم كفروا بالله ورسوله. والله سبحانه وتعالى لا يوفق للهدى الخارجين عن طاعته

So if they do not accept your challenge, then know that they only follow their desires; and who is more astray than one who follows his desires away from the guidance of Allah? Indeed Allah does not guide the unjust.
فإن لم يستجيبوا لك» دعاءك بالإتيان بكتاب« فاعلم أنما يتبعون أهواءهم» في كفرهم« ومن أضل ممن اتبع هواه بغير هدىً من الله» أي لا أضل منه« إن الله لا يهدي القوم الظالمين» الكافرين

Why should Allah will guidance for the people who disbelieved, after their having accepted faith and bearing witness that the Noble Messenger is a true one, and after clear signs had come to them? And Allah does not guide the unjust.
كيف» أي لا« يهدي الله قوما كفروا بعد إيمانهم وشهدوا» أي شهادتهم« أن الرسول حق و» قد« جاءهم البينات» الحجج الظاهرات على صدق النبي« والله لا يهدي القوم الظالمين» أي الكافرين

But if they do not answer you, then know that they only follow their low desires; and who is more erring than he who follows his low desires without any guidance from Allah? Surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.
فإن لم يستجيبوا لك» دعاءك بالإتيان بكتاب« فاعلم أنما يتبعون أهواءهم» في كفرهم« ومن أضل ممن اتبع هواه بغير هدىً من الله» أي لا أضل منه« إن الله لا يهدي القوم الظالمين» الكافرين

How would God bestow His guidance upon people who have opted for unbelief after having embraced the faith and having borne witness that this Messenger is true and[ after] all evidence of the truth has come to them? For, God does not guide such wrongdoers.
كيف» أي لا« يهدي الله قوما كفروا بعد إيمانهم وشهدوا» أي شهادتهم« أن الرسول حق و» قد« جاءهم البينات» الحجج الظاهرات على صدق النبي« والله لا يهدي القوم الظالمين» أي الكافرين

Whether you plead forgiveness for them or do not plead forgiveness for them, even if you plead forgiveness for them seventy times, Allah shall never forgive them because they defied Allah and His Apostle; and Allah does not guide the transgressing lot.
استغفر-أيها الرسول- للمنافقين أو لا تستغفر لهم، فلن يغفر الله لهم، مهما كثر استغفارك لهم وتكرر؛ لأنهم كفروا بالله ورسوله. والله سبحانه وتعالى لا يوفق للهدى الخارجين عن طاعته

Say,"Have you considered: if the Qur'an was from Allah, and you disbelieved in it while a witness from the Children of Israel has testified to something similar and believed while you were arrogant…?" Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
قُلْ اَرَءَيْتُمْ اِنْ كَانَ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللّٰهِ وَكَفَرْتُمْ بِهٖ وَشَهِدَ شَاهِدٌ مِّنْۢ بَنِىْۤ اِسْرَاۤءِيْلَ عَلٰى مِثْلِهٖ فَاٰمَنَ وَاسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ ۗ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يَهْدِى الْقَوْمَ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ

The example of those who were charged with the Torah, then failed to carry it, is that of an ass carrying books. Evil is the example of the people who deny Allah s signs', and Allah does not guide the wrongdoing lot.
شَبَهُ اليهود الذين كُلِّفوا العمل بالتوراة ثم لم يعملوا بها، كشَبه الحمار الذي يحمل كتبًا لا يدري ما فيها، قَبُحَ مَثَلُ القوم الذين كذَّبوا بآيات الله، ولم ينتفعوا بها، والله لا يوفِّق القوم الظالمين الذين يتجاوزون حدوده، ويخرجون عن طاعته

Is he who founds his structure upon piety and acceptance from God better, or he who founds his structure on the brink of a cliff that is about to tumble, so it tumbles with him into the Fire of Hell? God does not guide the unjust people.
لا يستوي مَن أسَّس بنيانه على تقوى الله وطاعته ومرضاته، ومن أسَّس بنيانه على طرف حفرة متداعية للسقوط، فبنى مسجدًا ضرارًا وكفرًا وتفريقًا بين المسلمين، فأدَّى به ذلك إلى السقوط في نار جهنم. والله لا يهدي القوم الظالمين المتجاوزين حدوده

Is he who founds his building on Godwariness and[ the pursuit of Allah s'] pleasure better-off or he who founds his building on the brink of a collapsing bank which collapses with him into the fire of hell? Allah does not guide the wrongdoing lot.
لا يستوي مَن أسَّس بنيانه على تقوى الله وطاعته ومرضاته، ومن أسَّس بنيانه على طرف حفرة متداعية للسقوط، فبنى مسجدًا ضرارًا وكفرًا وتفريقًا بين المسلمين، فأدَّى به ذلك إلى السقوط في نار جهنم. والله لا يهدي القوم الظالمين المتجاوزين حدوده

The example of those who were entrusted with the Taurat, and did not carry out its commands, is like the donkey carrying books; what a wretched example is of the people who denied the signs of Allah; and Allah does not guide the unjust.
شَبَهُ اليهود الذين كُلِّفوا العمل بالتوراة ثم لم يعملوا بها، كشَبه الحمار الذي يحمل كتبًا لا يدري ما فيها، قَبُحَ مَثَلُ القوم الذين كذَّبوا بآيات الله، ولم ينتفعوا بها، والله لا يوفِّق القوم الظالمين الذين يتجاوزون حدوده، ويخرجون عن طاعته

So is one who established his foundation upon the fear of Allah and upon His pleasure better, or the one who laid his foundation upon the brink of a falling precipice, so it fell along with him into the fire of hell? And Allah does not guide the unjust.
لا يستوي مَن أسَّس بنيانه على تقوى الله وطاعته ومرضاته، ومن أسَّس بنيانه على طرف حفرة متداعية للسقوط، فبنى مسجدًا ضرارًا وكفرًا وتفريقًا بين المسلمين، فأدَّى به ذلك إلى السقوط في نار جهنم. والله لا يهدي القوم الظالمين المتجاوزين حدوده

The likeness of those who were charged with the Taurat, then they did not observe it, is as the likeness of the ass bearing books, evil is the likeness of the people who reject the communications of Allah; and Allah does not guide the unjust people.
شَبَهُ اليهود الذين كُلِّفوا العمل بالتوراة ثم لم يعملوا بها، كشَبه الحمار الذي يحمل كتبًا لا يدري ما فيها، قَبُحَ مَثَلُ القوم الذين كذَّبوا بآيات الله، ولم ينتفعوا بها، والله لا يوفِّق القوم الظالمين الذين يتجاوزون حدوده، ويخرجون عن طاعته
