Tales from the Borderlands” is a new blog dedicated specifically to cross-border programmes.
Cross-border programmes under the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance within the Western Balkans started in 2007.
Towards the end of 2000, the Commission received 46 cross-border programmes(strand A) and 7 transnational programmes strand B.

It is quite simply our duty to urge the Commission to make full use of every conceivable programme, such as TACIS,INTERREG or other cross-border programmes and to do everything possible to remedy this catalogue of human suffering in our immediate vicinity.
IPA assistance is granted through annual financing decisions, except for cross-border programmes with member States implemented under the integrated approach, where the whole EU contribution for the programme is adopted through multi-annual financing decisions covering three years.
